I'll start with yesterday. Meet Oscar, the Boxer. Welcome to the family, Oscar. We adopted this 3-year-old, 71-pound bundle of puppy love from a family on James Island near Charleston. Bruce and Emmy have two other pups and three was too much of a crowd in this case. And it just so happens we had a little spot to fill in our home because one really is the lonliest number when it comes to pups.
Jimmy and I had to put Samantha, our 9-year-old Boxer, down last Saturday because of a tumor in her spleen. Samantha was Bailey's first friend and best bud, and oh boy was she missing her. So along came Oscar! He's no Samantha, but he's quite an Oscar -- and then some.
It's my first male dog. But don't get any ideas, no puppies on the way; Bailey and him are both fixed. Besides we have enough "on the way" to worry about right now. But I'll save that for another post. Stay tuned.

That sucks about Samantha. She was a very good dog and had a much-needed sage influence on Bailey, who was completely fucking nuts before Sam came along. I wonder how Bailey and Flapjack would interact. Flapjack is a bit of a baller. Kid likes to punch and kick and bite.
Yea, we'll miss Samantha. She sure did calm Bailey down. Bailey is doing well with other dogs. I bet her and Flapjack would have fun! How big is he? We'll have to bring her out there sometime for a visit! Yea, puppies bite like crazy. Hide your shoes. And your toes. I haven't seen too many kickers though. Flapjack sounds fun!
